Pastor Seth Trimmer speaks on a passage in Luke 7:1-10 where Jesus heals the Centurion's servant. In the context in which this event took place, a Centurion was a representative of an oppressing power, an enemy of the Jewish people. This particular Centurion was different, though. He had the trust of the Jewish leaders and they advocated for him with Jesus. Jesus healed his servant and told everyone in earshot of this man's great faith. Pastor Seth explained that it is easy for us to focus on how the Gospel is open to the oppressed and marginalized in our society, but it may be more difficult to allow God to use us to share his message with the oppressors and "enemies" of our time.
